Puebla state: Protest, roadblock on Atlixco-Puebla highway liable to disrupt travel on 21 August; plan journeys accordingly
Expect disruption on 21 August if using the Siglo XXI highway, which links Atlixco and Puebla cities (both Puebla state), during a planned protest from 06.00 (local time) at the Atlixco toll booth. Supporters of protesting local civic society groups have also threatened to block both sides of the route to demand the removal of the mayor of Acatlan de Osorio municipality (Puebla). The authorities will deploy security force personnel to maintain order during the event. Any related unrest, including scuffles between the police and protesters, will pose incidental risks to bystanders.

Exercise caution and follow all official directives over the coming days in Hawaii state amid the passage of a tropical depression. The weather system formed around 960 miles (1,545km) south-east of Hawaii and is currently moving north-westwards towards the state. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), it is forecast to pass south of Hawaii, bringing heavy rainfall across the state between 22 and 24 August. Currently, the tropical depression is not forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm, though the strength and trajectory of the storm is liable to change.

Exercise caution and expect weather-related disruption over the coming hours in the Mid-Atlantic region. The National Weather Service (NWS) on 20 August issued flash flood warnings for parts of Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania states. Affected areas include portions of New York City (New York), where flooding has reportedly caused closures along major highways and streets. A ground stop is in place at New York's John F Kennedy (JFK) airport, with similar measures likely at international airports across affected regions. Reconfirm the status of routes and transport services before setting out and adjust travel plans accordingly.
