Expect travel disruption during the Labour Day Golden Week period (1-5 May) in China, Hong Kong and Macau (both China SAR). A public holiday will be observed during the Golden Week period in China. Increased demand for transport and significant congestion at transport hubs, tourist sites and markets will occur during this period. A rise in international and domestic air and rail travel will result in large crowds and potential delays at airports and administrative border crossings between Shenzhen (Guangdong province) and Hong Kong. Expect heightened security and associated disruption in major urban centres.
