Reconfirm flights, expect disruption amid indefinite strike by public sector workers
Reconfirm flight schedules and expect disruption over the coming days amid a strike by public sector workers, including airport firefighters. The FRAAP union has called for the strike due to long-standing grievances with the government over salary and working conditions. According to local officials, the strike has disrupted airport operations since 28 June, when a third of the flights were delayed or cancelled. Expect short-notice schedule changes at major airports. The latter include Bora Bora (BOB), Raiatea (RFP, both Leeward Islands subdivision), Rangiroa (RGI, Tuamotus subdivision) and Tahiti Fa’aa International (PPT, Windward Islands subdivision) airports. Local authorities have taken measures to minimise flight disruption.
